Guide Rail Saw Base
View demonstration video.
This saw base allows you to convert your existing circular saw into a precision guide rail saw for ripping and crosscutting panels to size. The base is designed for use with all leading brands of circular saws with blades up to 190mm in diameter. Manufactured from case-hardened aluminium to prevent bowing, the base sits over the raised central channel on the guide rail. A series of four micro-adjustment cams allow you to eliminate any play between the rail and base to ensure an ultra-smooth, precise movement along the rail.
The saw is mounted to the base with four clamps, with each clamp having two micro adjustment screws for perfect levelling. To align the blade, you place the 5mm gauge bar between the blade and the edge of the rail. This gives the optimum clearance between the blade and the guide rail. To prevent kick back and splintering of the workpiece, there is a sacrificial anti-kick splinter plate that bolts to the underneath of the base and sits directly under the leading edge of the blade. To ensure that your blade cuts your marked line, you set the two line gauges to the kerf width of your blade and then place the gauges on the rail and align them with your marked line.
Set up is quick, simple and results in a very precise cut, time after time. This is an excellent saw base that will convert your existing circular saw into a precision guide rail saw. Supplied with saw base, 5mm blade set-up gauge and two line gauges. ©
