Carving Discs – Flat and Round – Set of 2
Designed for use in angle grinders, these discs will carve, sculpt, shape or smooth hard, soft and exotic woods. Each disc is engineered from carbon steel, quenched and tempered to HRC45-55. This extensive hardening process ensures durability and long lasting sharpness, with the rows of machine stitched teeth working quickly to provide rapid stock removal. The open, less concentrated tooth pattern prevents the discs from loading with swarf, to maintain optimum control during use and provide a finer surface finish.
These discs are well suited for the shaping of large carvings, chair seats, busts, oak beams and in all other operations where typically a gouge or spoke shave would be used. The flat disc is excellent for levelling high spots and general smoothing of uneven surfaces whilst the round, cylindrical disc allows for controlled grooving, notching and shaping in a different plane to a standard carving disc. The 22.2mm centre bore allows the discs to be used with industry standard 115 – 125mm angle grinders using safety approved eye protection. By reducing the pressure, a smooth and consistent finish can be achieved, alternatively add pressure and the discs will quickly create shape. Each disc features a tough surface coating for extra durability, cooler running and corrosion protection. ©
