Brushless Cordless 18V Planer
The Rutlands® cordless 18V planer with 18V, 4.0Ah battery and charger, features a powerful, high performance and maintenance-free brushless motor, ensuring long battery run times and maximum stock removal per charge. Exacting alignment between the precision machined front and rear base plates ensures this planer produces perfectly flat and consistently smooth surfaces on hardwood, softwood and composite wood.
The brushless motor operates at 15,000rpm, rapidly removing stock with the two 82mm tungsten-carbide blades. Each long-lasting blade is reversible and quickly rotated to extend their working life and minimise downtime. Perfectly balanced with soft start technology, the planer starts in a smooth, controlled manner and the electronic safety brake stops the cutter head in seconds for safer operation.
The CNC machined bases provide a 285 x 80mm overall footprint and feature a smooth, friction-free finish to glide effortlessly across the workpiece. Three sizes of V groove guide in the front base plate provide quick registration against corner edges when chamfering. The depth of cut can be set up to 2mm per pass, with graduations provided every 0.1mm. Depth adjustment is smooth and light, and a marked improvement over the typical stiff, arduous adjustment. A spring loaded kick stand to the rear of the base elevates the rear of the planer, allowing it rest freely with no risk of damage or marking to the workpiece or blades.
The auxiliary side plate provides a large, stable parallel edge guide and when used with the rebate depth guide, allows you to finely control both the depth and width of rebate. The ergonomically designed handle features a grippy non-slip coating for maximum control during heavy passes and a two-stage safety switch to prevent accidental starting. A central switch controls the two chip ejection ports, allowing you to direct waste out of the way to the left or right hand side. An optional 45 degree elbow allows direct connection to dust collectors.
Supplied with the planer are 2 reversible tungsten-carbide blades, 1 x 18V, 4.0Ah Li-ion battery, charger, edge guide and rebate depth gauge. ©
